Frequently Asked Questions

Before you reach out, here are answers to common questions about DKD’s phospholipid platform, its first clinical application in wound healing, and how to collaborate with us.

Platform & Technology

What is DKD’s core technology?+

DKD has developed a proprietary phospholipid platform extracted from egg yolk through a solvent-free manufacturing process that preserves the native biological complexity of phospholipids — rather than breaking them down into isolated, purified components as conventional excipients do.

How is this different from a standard phospholipid excipient?+

Most commercial phospholipid excipients are purified down to a single isolated component, which strips away much of their native biological behavior. DKD’s platform is designed to preserve that natural complexity, so it can integrate biological compatibility with delivery — supporting tissue interaction, not just transporting a compound.

Is the manufacturing process solvent-free?+

Yes. The platform is developed without the intentional use of organic solvents or synthetic surfactants, which is part of how it preserves the phospholipids’ native structure.

Is the platform limited to wound care?+

No. Wound healing is the platform’s first commercialized, real-world validation — not its ceiling. The same underlying technology is being translated into additional applications, including mucosal delivery, skincare, transdermal delivery, and respiratory delivery.

Clinical Application & Evidence

What was DKD’s first clinical application?+

The platform’s first clinical translation is in wound healing and tissue regeneration. It has been commercialized as a Class B medical device in Vietnam and has real-world hospital use.

Is the wound care solution a drug or a medical device?+

It is registered and commercialized as a Class B medical device in Vietnam, not a pharmaceutical drug.

Where has it been used in practice?+

The wound healing application has real-world clinical experience through hospital use in Vietnam, giving DKD practical, in-hospital validation rather than lab-only data.

What other applications is DKD developing?+

Beyond wound healing, DKD is expanding the platform into mucosal delivery and skincare (both already commercialized), as well as transdermal delivery and respiratory delivery, which are currently in development.

Partnership & Licensing

How can universities or hospitals collaborate with DKD?+

DKD partners with universities, hospitals, and research institutes to advance research based on the platform — including mechanism studies, clinical applications, and co-invention with joint patent registration, particularly in areas like rare diseases, chronic wounds, and non-invasive delivery systems.

Does DKD offer research funding?+

Yes. DKD co-funds high-potential research projects in humanitarian medicine, orphan drugs, and pediatric applications, and support can include direct funding, access to testing facilities, or collaboration on international publications. This track is best suited to ESG/CSR-oriented funds and humanitarian or medical organizations.

Can DKD’s technology be licensed?+

Yes. DKD offers exclusive licensing, patent utilization rights, and joint ventures to develop derivative products, along with support across IP documentation, manufacturing processes, and quality control systems. This is best suited to pharmaceutical companies, medical device firms, and investors looking to commercialize the platform long-term.
